SRES Alumni Gathering at the 2019 AAG Annual Meeting

At the season of blooming cherry blossoms the 2019 Annual Meeting of American Association of Geographers was held in Washington, DC, USA, April 3-7, 2019. During the meeting, Pro. Lin Li on behalf of SRES gathered with the alumni at the AAG meeting. These alumni came from more than ten US and Chinese universities or research institutes, including the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the University of California, Riverside, the University of Georgia and Peking University.


Pro. Lin Li introduced the latest developments of SRES to the alumni. “SRES is our forever home”. The Alumni expressed their feelings to SRES after learning the new developments of SRES. Although they were far away from the school, they were still proud of Wuhan University and school. The alumni also communicated and discussed their challenges and experiences of overseas study and life. Pro. Li encouraged students to cherish their youth life and bravely climb the academic peak.

The Association of American Geographers (AAG) is the most innovative and active international geographic event in the world with the largest academic influence and global geographer. It was founded in 1904, and has been successfully held for 115 consecutive sessions. More than 8,500 geography-related professionals participated in the conference. The AAG sets up three themes: “geography”, “geographic information science and health” and “building an international network of geospatial health research”. The annual conference is focusing on promoting major international academic exchanges and cooperation on these themes.
