Professor Menno-Jan Kraak the president of ICA came to visit the School

On October 22nd-23rd, Prof. Menno-Jan Kraak was invited to join The 60th anniversary of geomatics at Wuhan University and visited the School of Resource and Environmental Science in the morning on October 23rd with a lecture named “Mapping Movement” which received a worm welcome.

Professor Menno-Jan Kraak is a Dutch cartographer and professor of Geovisual Analytics and Cartography at Geo-information Sciences and Earth Observation Faculty in the University of Twente. He is well-known as his working in cartography and his activities in the International Cartographic Association.Currently, he is the head of ITC’s Geo-information Processing Department. Since 2015, he was selected to be president of International Cartographic Association.

Professor Menno-Jan Kraak published lost of papers and books includingCartography visualization of spatial data, Web Cartography – developments and prospects, Exploring Geovisualization, Mapping Time: Illustrated by Minard's Map of Napoleon's Russian Campaign of 1812etc.
